S.Nijalingappa College is one of the premier and prestigious Institutions of the KLE Society. It made a humble beginning in a rented building near mayo hall on M.G.Road with 200 students and 5 staff members in 1963. Today KLE’s S.Nijalingappa College has grown into a gigantic tree achieving new heights, with more than 6500 students and 500 members of the staff. The fact that the College has been reaccredited with CGPA 3.82 out of 4 (highest in Karnataka) and was accorded a rare status by UGC “College with potential for Excellence” is testimony to this. The college alumni are brand ambassadors across the world spreading the message of KLE Society’s service in the field of education.The College conducts 16 UG Programs in Arts, Science, Commerce, Hotel Management, Business Management, Computer Application, Fashion and Apparel design, Integrated tourism administration and 7 PG programs in Commerce, Computer application, Tourism administration, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. It also conducts number of value added and certificate programs to make the students more employable and competent.

Chairman’s Message
As the KLE Society stands on the threshold of a century of service, I look back with joy at the extent of all that has been achieved. I am humbled too, for I am the torch-bearer of an illustrious tradition of knowledge dissemination that has made a positive difference to the lives of countless thousands. The KLE Society began in a humble way with the establishment of a single institution in the educationally backward North Karnataka region in 1916. Over the years, it has grown into a virtual knowledge movement and presently encompasses as many as 250 institutions, 16,000 employees, around 1,25,000 students and KLE Health University. A new chapter now dawned at the KLE Society with the launch of the KLE Technological University (Under Karnataka University Act, 2013) in its fold. Each of these institutions, like the honey bee, sources knowledge from far and wide and converts it into refined educational curricula that benefits knowledge seekers. In the process, it brings about change & progress among the individuals, in the community and the society at large to make a world of difference! What the KLE Society is today is the result of the cumulative efforts and selfless striving of many, over the decades. But it was the spark lit by the founders- and the visionaries around them – that enabled all that followed as a beacon of hope that lights up the educational landscape. Being at the helm, at this proud moment in the KLE Society’s history, I continue to draw inspiration from the original spark, in the commitment to spread the light even further.

It is indeed a pleasure to welcome you to our College, an institution that has a rich past and a bright future. The College was established in the year 1963. We have completed more than 50 years of rewarding service in the field of higher education. Ours is an institution which offers a wide variety of conventional and need-based courses in the Arts, Commerce, Science and technical fields, in keeping with the evolving globalized scenario. We offer courses at both the undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. Being founded in deep-rooted culture of quality higher education, we have maintained an ambiance that is ideally suited to the all-round development of the students. Academic endeavors are pursued in a holistic manner to ensure that all the requisite and desirable inputs are provided to the learners. Further, all activities on and off the campus are oriented towards igniting the curiosity of the student and imbibing a culture of continuous learning. The infrastructural facilities comprising of state-of-the-art laboratories, a well-stacked library and well-equipped sports complex. The highly qualified, dedicated and enterprising staff lead, guide and support the student community. The College is proud of the achievements of the students in all kinds of sports activities. The students have represented the College at the State, National level and International level too.

HOD Message
KLE Nijalingappa College’s Department of Business Management was established in the year 1991. Within a span of 29 years the institute has made its presence felt in the industry and carved niche for itself as a source of competent management and technical manpower for hospitality establishments. Since then the college has churned out 26 batches of students with a strong alumni network as old as its history itself. The institution has been acclaimed and re-accredidated as Grade ‘A + ’ by National Assessment Accreditation Council for quality in education. This is possible due to the rigorous training, academic inputs, and the support from the various reputed Hospitality, Catering, Travel and Tourism partners and collaborators.
BHM programme exposes the students through comprehensive and intensive sessions spread across four years (eight semesters) the expertise required to be a hardcore hospitality professional. We promote interactive learning, the students are encouraged to analyse, anticipate, innovate and prepare for a challenging career in the hospitality industry.
